1. Size and Formation:


The Grand Canyon is very big. It's about 277 miles (446 kilometers) long, up to 18 miles (29 kilometers) wide, and more than a mile (1.6 kilometers) deep. The canyon was formed by the Colorado River, which carved its way through the rocks over millions of years. This has created layers of rock that can tell us about the Earth's history.


2. Sightseeing:


The Grand Canyon is split into different areas or "rims." The most visited is the South Rim, open all year round, where you can enjoy many beautiful views. The North Rim is quieter and less crowded, but it's only open from May to October because of the snow. Each rim offers different viewpoints of the canyon.
